The Build Your Own strategy is our most customizable strategy which means it also has the most settings. Below is an overview of those settings.

Competition Type (Amazon Only Setting)

Choose what type of Amazon offer to compete against.

Here is a breakdown of how competition is selected based on the type you choose:

  • All - Selects the lowest overall offer.

  • Only FBA - Selects the lowest FBA (Fulfilled By Amazon) offer.

  • Only MFN - Selects the lowest MFN (Merchant Fulfilled Network) offer.

  • FBA then MFN - Selects the lowest FBA offer first. If there are no competing FBA offers, the lowest MFN offer is selected.

  • Buy Box - Only the current Buy Box offer is selected.

  • FBA then Buy Box - Selects the lowest FBA offer first. If there are no competing FBA offers, the Buy Box owner is selected.

Important: All exclusion settings are ignored when setting your competition type to "Buy Box" or "FBA then Buy Box" (when there are no FBA offers).

Repricing Rules

There are 3 different settings that will dictate how you reprice against your competition. Each setting will allow you to price below, price above, or match price. You can price below or above by either a $ or %.

  • Choose how to reprice against your competition

If neither of the below settings are enabled, this setting will dictate how you reprice against all types of offers (MFN, FBA, Amazon).

  • Would you like to compete differently against FBA and SFP?

If you would like to compete differently against FBA & SFP sellers, you can choose "Yes" for this setting. This would mean that the above setting will only dictate how you reprice against MFN sellers.

  • Would you like to compete differently against Amazon?

Amazon will be treated as an FBA seller unless this setting is enabled. This setting allows you to compete against Amazon differently than all other sellers.

Competition Scenarios

These settings allow you to specify how to reprice when your pricing rules do not apply.

When there is no competition

Choose how to reprice when there are no competing offers on a listing. This means that we have not selected a competitor based on your strategy settings or there is no other seller listed for your item at this time. Your options are as follows:

  • Do Not Reprice: Your price will not be revised until the competition is recognized.

  • Use Min Price: Your min price will be used until the competition is recognized.

  • Use Max Price: Your max price will be used until competition is recognized.

When competition is below your min price:

Choose how to reprice when your competition's price is below the minimum price you've set. Your options are as follows:

  • Do Not Reprice: Your price will not be revised until your competitor's price goes above your min.

  • Use Min Price: Your min price will be used until your competitor's price goes above your min.

  • Use Max Price: Your max price will be used until your competitor's price goes above your min.

  • Ignore Competition: When your direct competitor is below your min price, you have the option to ignore this seller and be repriced against the next eligible seller based on your existing strategy settings.

When the competition matches your min price:

Choose how to reprice when your competition's price matches your min price. Your options are as follows:

  • Do Not Reprice: Your price will not be revised until your competition's price no longer matches your min price.

  • Use Min Price: Your min price will be used until your competition's price no longer matches your min price.

  • Use Max Price: Your max price will be used until your competition's price no longer matches your min price.

  • Ignore Competition: When your direct competitor matches your min price, you have the option to ignore this seller and be repriced against the next eligible seller based on your existing strategy settings.

When your own price matches your min price:

Choose how to reprice once you have reached your min price. It is important to note that if any of the above settings have been adjusted to "Use Min Price" this setting will be triggered and your price will be adjusted accordingly. Your options are as follows:

  • Use Min Price: Choose to remain at your min price.

  • Use Max Price: Go to your max price to "restart" repricing. Choosing this setting will mean that you will never actually hit your min price.

Additional Settings

Price Out of Stock Listings to Max Price

This setting allows you to set your listing price to its max whenever a listing goes out of stock. Once your listing is back in stock, it will begin repricing according to the assigned strategy's setting.

Smart Price Reset

This setting will help to drive prices up and reset the "bidding war" that can sometimes happen on Amazon. When enabled, SKUs with competition will go to max price and stay there during the period with the fewest historical sales.

Don't Lower My Price

This setting allows you to choose whether or not you would like your price to continue to be lowered once your offer wins the Buy Box.

The Don't Lower My Price option overrides any settings that call for your min price to be used. The "Use Max Price" setting will continue to be followed.

This option is ALWAYS used when Get the Buy Box is enabled.

Exclusion Settings

Seller Rating

This setting lets you specify the minimum seller rating you want to compete against. Any sellers below the rating specified will be excluded from the competition.

Exclude/Include Sellers by Name

This setting allows you to exclude specific competitors or include competitors whom you only want to compete against. This feature is beneficial for sellers who want to avoid competing with a specific seller who may try to drive your price down intentionally.

To create your list:

  1. Select the type of list you are creating ("Exclude" or "Include").

  2. Select "+ New List."

  3. Give your list a name you can easily identify.

  4. Enter the seller's name exactly as it appears on the offer page, then click add.

Once your list is complete, click save. To remove a seller, select their name from the list and click on the trash can icon.

Remember, if your seller list is created to "include" sellers, Informed Repricer will ONLY look for those specific sellers as competition. If the seller names in your list are not on the offer page, you will show "no competition". This is something to remember when adjusting your no-competition strategy setting.

Exclude Competition with Handling TIme

This exclusion setting allows you to exclude offers with a handling time greater than your selected value. Sellers with extended handling times are less attractive to buyers and generally less competitive for the buy box.

Exclude Backordered Competition

This exclusion setting allows you to ignore offers who are out of inventory and are listed as Backordered; these offers will take longer to arrive to a buyer and are less competitive.

Featured Sellers Only

This setting allows you to compete exclusively with Featured Sellers (sometimes called Featured Merchants) while excluding all other offers from competition.

Excluding Non-Featured sellers can be useful for sellers who want to avoid competing with new sellers or sellers with low ratings who are not Buy Box eligible.

Exclude Amazon as a Seller

This setting allows you to exclude Amazon as a competitor completely. This is especially helpful because Amazon offers typically need to be beaten by a higher percentage to win the Buy Box.

Used Item Condition

This setting lets you choose how you'd like your Used Items to compete. You can choose one of the following options:

  • Used items in the same or better condition

  • All used items

This is especially useful for ensuring your item does not reprice too low because it competes with another used item in much worse condition.
